Colosseum Launch Date!
We know you’ve been eagerly awaiting news from us, but we wanted to have some solid information to share before posting. There have been some adjustments to our initial plans, but now everything is set. Without further ado, let me jump straight into answering the hot question:
When is the campaign going to launch?
The Colosseum campaign will launch on June 17th, 2025!
As you may know, our previous title, Unconscious Mind, created a bottleneck in our pipeline as we took extra time to edit the rules and make adjustments in the game’s art direction to achieve a solid thematic and user-friendly experience. Furthermore, since Colosseum is a revamp of a classic game rather than an original design, we wanted to ensure it would be fully polished at launch (unlike our previous titles that had incomplete components during their campaigns). So, after careful consideration, we’re excited to finally meet you in June!
However, we have further updates to share. While working on the games, we realized that launching both titles simultaneously might not be the best idea. Let me explain why…
During the development of the classic Colosseum, we began incorporating more ideas initially reserved for Colosseum: Ave Titus. These ideas were too good to pass up for the classic title, such as having a board featuring one large Colosseum where the emperor can change his position instead of roads or gardens with small Colosseums. As the original Colosseum became increasingly impressive, we realized that launching it alongside Colosseum: Ave Titus, a significantly different game mechanically, could cause the two to compete unnecessarily. Additionally, since Ave Titus already contributed visual concepts to the classic version, distinguishing it as a standalone sequel would become even more challenging.
Facing this situation, we made a tough decision.
For now, we will only launch the revamped classic Colosseum—alongside some cool surprises we will announce later—and return next year with Colosseum: Ave Titus. This approach allows us ample time to further differentiate Ave Titus from its predecessor, creating a unique visual identity and gameplay experience. Each game will have its deserved space within the boardgame community without overshadowing the other.

But there’s more.
In our previous campaigns (Endless Winter, Unconscious Mind, and FLOE from our sister company Pika Games), development continued post-campaign, including expansions and rulebook refinements. We chose this approach to incorporate your valuable suggestions and feedback from reviewers during the campaign while also managing our finances (since fully completing artwork, rules, and graphics before launching can be quite demanding). However, having grown significantly as a studio, we’ve now decided only to launch games that are fully developed and ready for print shortly after the campaign ends. Following this model, launching Colosseum and Ave Titus simultaneously would require significant delays. Therefore, when Ave Titus eventually launches, it will be a nearly print-ready game, not a big work in progress.
To summarize clearly:
– The Colosseum campaign will launch on June 17th 2025, featuring only the classic game (and some added surprises).
– Colosseum: Ave Titus will launch next year, again on Gamefound.
– This decision ensures each game receives the attention it deserves and allows both games to be nearly 100% final before their respective launches.
